Girls Prep D2 Poll
A perennial playoff team in D2, Gunnery (13-13-1) has come close to winning a New England title the past couple of years, reaching the title game last winter.
With a solid nucleus back this winter for new head coach Jamie Goldsmith, this could very well be the year for the Highlanders.
Not if #2 Worcester Academy (20-6-1) has any say. The defending champions won their first NE title last winter. The Hilltoppers will have a smaller roster this year but will be highly talented. The title is theirs until someone can knock them off.
#3 Rivers (14-7-6) also has a new coach, with former Boston College star Dana Trivigno taking over behind the bench. She inherits a club that lost just one senior, so expect the Red Wings to be amongst the leaders.
#4 Thayer (17-10-3) reached the semifinals last season. The Tigers will be solid on the blue line and in goal, but need to replace their top two scorers from a year ago.
Loaded with returners, #5 Brooks (9-14-4) will be ready to make a big jump up and contend for a D2 title.
