Massachusetts Boys Division 2 Poll
Even the final week of the regular season was not spared the craziness that has been Massachusetts D2 hockey this year. In all, eight of the top 10 teams in our rankings last week suffered a loss.
It should make for quite a post-season. Seedings may not make much of a difference, especially on the North side of the bracket.
One of the two teams that did no suffer a loss was Canton (15-2-4), which moved back into the #1 spot it had occupied for a few weeks earlier this season. The Bulldogs won the Joe Quinn Memorial Tournament this past week.
Both #3 Stoneham (14-4-2) and now #6 Danvers (15-5-1) lost games on the regular season’s final day. #4 Lincoln-Sudbury (12-7-1) heads into the post-season on a three-game losing streak. #5 Masconomet (11-5-4) did win its division at the Newburyport Bank Classic.
#2 Lowell Catholic (13-6-1), the defending state champ, won its final two games (one by forfeit), but did start the week with a 4-0 loss to new #15 North Reading (9-8-3), which qualified for post-season play with a 2-1 win over Danvers Friday night.
#7 Lynnfield (12-5-3) and #8 Medfield (11-5-4) played to a 3-3 stalemate on Friday.
