Nobles (26-3-3) earned the top seed in the 2018 Girls D1 Prep playoffs and the ‘Dawgs did not disappoint, winning their ninth New England championship with a 2-0 win over Williston in the final game. Nobles takes the top spot in the HNIB News Final Girls D1 Prep Top 10.

With the tremendous parity now at the D1 level, the Top 10 fluctuated a lot during the season. Such was also the case with these final rankings. Williston (16-7-4), close to not even making the playoffs a few weeks ago, played well down the stretch, got into the post-season and knocked off both Kent and Tabor to reach the title game. The Wildcats finish at #2.

Kent (18-2-0), which had been the HNIB News #1 team heading into the post-season, finishes at #3 following the one-goal quarterfinal loss to Williston.

Semifinalist Tabor (22-5-0) ends up at #4.

Yes, sad news. John was one of the premier Mass. High school players of his era. Condolences to his family. https://t.co/pkqvBMkiML - 1 hour ago
