Connecticut HS Highlights: Woodstock’s Odom, Staples’ Strober With 4-Goal Games

* Ridgefield continues to flex its muscles, getting goals from six different players in a 6-1 win over Hamden to go to 6-0-0 on the young season. Nick Cullinan, Will Forrest, Matt Walker, Luke Welch, Tyler Gordon and Owen Luft all lit the lamp.

* D1 #3 Darien held off Xavier 4-3 with goals from Sam Erickson, Jamison Moore, Sean Bradley and Blake Swiggett.

Woodstock Academy

* Matt Odom scored four goals as Woodstock Academy doubled up Housatonic/NW 6-3 for its fourth straight win.

* D2 #2 Guilford got a pair of goals each from John DeLucia and Jack Dacey in a 5-4 win over West Haven. Connor Hagness also had a goal for the Indians.

Jason Csejka
Amity

* Jason Csejka had a hat trick and Ryan Miller added a goal as Amity remained unbeaten with a 4-1 victory over North Haven.

* Speaking of hat tricks, Tom Schiesser had one for BBD as they tied up Daniel Hand in a 6-6 contest.

* An overtime goal by John Michael Childs gave Notre Dame of West Haven a 3-2 win over Fairfield Prep. Charles Andriole and John D’Errico also had goals in the win. Colin Bella had both markers for Fairfield Prep.

Brennan Horn
Northwest Catholic

* Northwest Catholic’s Nick Salcedo also had an overtime game-winner in his team’s 3-2 decision over New Canaan. Colby Tuttle and Brennan Horn also scored in the win.

* In Staples’ 4-0 shutout of New Milford, Zach Strober scored all four Wreckers goals, and Dylan Mace notched the shutout between the pipes.

* Cheshire sneaked past East Haven Co-op 2-1 on goals by Scott Heseltine and Michael Caron.

* East Catholic got a hat trick from freshman Rowan Masse in a 3-1 win over North Branford.

In 1972, two lifetime high school hockey fans started a weekly broadcast of Greater Boston high school games on WBOS-FM (92.9). The duo - Lance LoFaro and Darby Yaeger - called the nightly broadcasts "Hockey Night in Boston". As of late, HNIBnews - over 28 years running - has kept the scholastic hockey world on its feet with its widely-read newspaper. In addition to HNIBnews, Hockey Night in Boston also hosts summer tournaments showcasing the talents of scholastic hockey.
